We have completed the half of the tenure. First of all, I would like to thank all the Rotaractors for spinning the wheel for 6 months. My fellow committee members and I cannot express enough how much we appreciate your attention towards our district and club programs. This year we have initiated different actions to improve our administration. For that it took us sometime to realize the importance of those initiatives. Let me also take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in different district initiated events starting from Zonal COTS, District Assembly and Presidents and Secretaries Meet. A special shout out to all the host clubs of mentioned events for working day and night.
Fellow Rotaractors, as I mentioned we already have reached the halfway of this Rotary Year. Time definitely flies when you are working hard and enjoying. As we sit and REFLECT on what we have accomplished, we can see lot of great work with great enthusiasm. Being a volunteer, we have taken our time out to plan, coordinate, mobilize and execute successful activities, projects and meetings. Let us not forget mentioning the special social events that were fun filled. Looking at the reports and social media posting, we can say we did justice to our motto ¨Fellowship through Service¨.
This year we have worked hard to strengthen the administration of our district. It will take time streamline the whole process. You may have witnessed adaptation of different mechanisms. Be it issuing ID cards, paying dues and showcasing barometer of recognition. I also agree that it initially created some confusion and this definitely was not an easy task to adopt since this is new practice. Let me tell you friends, at the end of the tenure you will realize we all did this for betterment. You will witness the shift in working pattern of Rotaract in general.
As we are moving, we must build upon what we’ve worked so far. One suggestion for all, please be in group, put everything together and you’ll be amazed. Congratulate each other and prepare yourself for remaining journey. We would also like to encourage clubs to nominate the President Elect since the elect presidents can start working with DRR Elect Rtr. Sneha Shakya.
Beside the great work we are doing on ground, let us gear to expand our horizon and do/participate in international events. These includes participation in different international events. Stay tuned with email from committee members and grab the opportunity.
Finally, book your calendar for January 18 and 19, 2019 for biggest event of the year; 11th Rotaract District Conference in Butwal. The theme of the conference is ¨Creating Spaces for Youth¨. The whole idea of keeping this theme is to get answer of following questions: what is youth spaces, what does it mean to you having youth spaces, are you happy with the current youth spaces in state, what should be our stand about Youth Space as Rotaract fraternity. Hence we encourage clubs to participate in conference and make this event memorable one.
