Rotarators that participated in the hike
RAC PDS organised a one day hike to Jamacho Gumba on 23rd March 2019. Seven rotaractors participated in the hike. The main aim of the event was to promote fellowship among the rotaractors as well as to enjoy the beautiful nature.
Jamacho Gumba lies on the top of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. The hike started at 9:30AM. The start up location for the hike was Nagarjun. There were cemented steps developed for hiking. The hiking path is about 5km from the bottom to the top of the hill. The hike went through the wilderness of the woods that was protected by the Nepalese Army. It took around 3 hrs to reach the top of hill. At the top there is a Buddhist Shrine called the Jamacho Gumba. The monastry offered spiritual heightening. A view tower there offered a pleasant view of the Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayas. Hiking down was much faster and it took about 2 hours to reach the point where hiking started.
The rotaractors were excited for the hike. A strong fellowship was developed in between the rotaractors. They build a better understanding of the nature and suggested for similar events in the future too.
