The main objective of celebrating World Cerebral Palsy Day is to raise awareness of Cerebral Palsy and the issues that affect people with Cerebral Palsy at a local, national and international level to create more inclusive societies.
World Cerebral Palsy Day is a movement of people with Cerebral Palsy and their families, and the organisations that support them, in more than 75 countries. World Cerebral Palsy (CP) Day is Sunday October 6 2019. More than just an awareness day, it is an opportunity to celebrate and express pride in the lives and achievements of those with CP and the people and the organisations that support them and create a powerful voice for those with CP to change their world.
The project is coordinated by the World Cerebral Palsy Initiative, a group of non-profit cerebral palsy organisations with a global vision to create real change for people living with CP. In Nepal Self Help Group of Cerebral Palsy have been taking initiation and coordinating with different likeminded organization to celebrate world cerebral palsy day. Past 10years Rotaract and Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square have been closely working on with and this year we have worked on cooperating with the theme “Go Green” lighting public places and members house with green light and awareness campaign. Public places like Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Pulchwok, Kumari Ghar and Basantapur Gaddi baithak and club members house wore decorated by green lights on that day.
